Good Enough?
It’s probably no surprise, given my background in the arts, that I end up coaching a lot of creative people — visual artists, actors, filmmakers, designers, and more. Some common themes always seem to come up when we work together. One of the big questions I hear a lot is: “Am I good enough?”
When we start working together, we dig into what ‘good enough’ actually means to them. What does good even look like? What would good enough feel like? This is where things start to get interesting, because the answers are always personal and shaped by each person’s own life experience. For one person, good enough might mean getting represented by a gallery. For someone else, it could be landing an acting job, getting an exhibition, or selling enough work to live off their art. Whatever it means for them, we start to figure out what they really want — and honestly, a lot of people aren’t totally sure at first. That’s when the real work (and magic) starts.
We start asking questions like:
• Why do I paint or act?
• What would my life be like without it?
• What does it actually bring to my life?
• What happens if I achieve my goals and it still doesn’t feel like enough?
• Who do I feel is judging me?
When we get into these questions, that’s where real change happens. A lot of us go through life — and even make art — on autopilot. Coaching gives you the space to slow down, reflect, and start seeing new ways of thinking, creating, and just being in the world. If this sounds like it’s speaking to you, drop me a message and we can set up a discovery call through my contact page. Would love to hear from you.
